I have a serious point to make. This phenomenon is not uncommon. You may be familiar with the large number of mounds there are in Ohio. The state also has a large number of people following dark paths, most foolish, but some very serious about it. These often make it a point to perform rituals in some of the mounds that are currently in parks.
I have often found markings and half buried fetishes where there are bones underneath, however, as this is land very close to civilization, it is hard to dig anything up without getting caught. I have known people who admitted they seek to bind the spirits of those buried and through them control energies of the land.
I think some of these were/are controlled by dark energies, because they seem to be activated to do what they do whereas they are not really involved in the occult, but usually there is someone who is at the center of the group.
I've been in a park where some have tried to do this while masking it under a party where a lot of drugs were flying around (at a rock quarry/lake that was once a sacred site). The ones that I got to brag said they were promised things if they unleashed certain forces in certain ways.
Some claim that this is going on globally as an attempt to unleash chaos on the world, where those in its service will have power in view of the suffering they help cause. Some are just driven to it because it gives them some kind of ecstatic high.
I used to travel around Ohio looking for such activity with a friend of mine. He has since moved to Hawaii and told me there is very heavy activity of this sort there, over sites of past human sacrifice especially, and sites of high manna flow.
Similar activities have been said to occur in Greece, and I am sure elsewhere as well. I have over time learned to use map dowsing to sense troubled spots and attempt to influence the situation remotely. This has been successful to a degree, but it has changed my life (or rather revealed sources of negativity I had sensed before).
I believe spirit is on my side here, and that those who are in the position to make a difference should be made aware of this situation as something not restricted to a few ambitious dark occultists, but which is more likely a trend, IMO.
Lightwarrior, I am confident you are capable of handling this. But I think that those involved may be organized, and this may be a kind of challenge where the tourists were drawn in to witness what was going on to tell you.
These people want power, and sometimes they cannot just grab it in a sacred spot. They need pure hearts to catalyze them, either through some sort of sacrifice or to dominate them through fear and make the side "admit" the side of "darkeness" (or what these perverse individuals support) is stronger.
They feel resistance to what they do, and really cannot pinpoint it, so I have found when they can they try to dominate any representative(s) of that resistance. I think it is wise to go in knowing that these allies or even the forces driving them may think they are leading you in.

PS: If you like, you can PM me and inform me where approximately this place is so I can dowse it on a map. In this way, I may be able to remotely assist. I expressed some general things here, but I think in this case, what is going on may be similar to some workings of Pacific Huna sorcery where the spirits of the dead are contacted through their bones and used as etheric material to embody something very negative, which is then unleashed.
Because some of these bones probably belonged to people with natural connections to the land itself, such activities are also used to subjugate those flows as well in the service of the negative presence.
