The policy of taking the initiative for building peace

The policy of taking the initiative for building peace without wailing for reciprocity by India that the Pakistani Prime Minister has adopted must be supported. It is also necessary to realise that peace cannot be taken for granted; it will have to be secured through a properly planned campaign. This should reduce Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ability to act on the surgical strike theory because he derives strength for his bellicose posturing from the international community’s uneasiness with Islamabad’s reluctance to deal firmly with militant organisations. Fortunately, both countries realise not only the unaffordable cost of a full-scale war but also the fact that neither side is in a position to obliterate the other. But in South Asia, whoever uses a nuclear bomb against its next-door neighbour will cause its own people almost as much loss and suffering as it might inflict on the rival party. This drain on the country’s resources can be stopped only by pushing for peace with all the neighbours. Secondly, old scenarios of nuclear war involved countries situated long distances away from each other and neither side was likely to be affected by the fallout from its use of nuclear devices. The one positive result of the latest spell of tension in relations with India is the beginning of action against the already proscribed militant outfits that should have accompanied the launch of the National Action Plan in 2014, if not earlier. Perhaps Pakistan is more vulnerable in this regard than India. In this regard, it is wrong to attribute the international community’s criticism of Pakistan’s odd relationship with jihadist outfits wholly to Indian instigation. When the two South insert nut Suppliers Asian neighbours embarked on a collision course, the international community became afraid of a nuclear conflict perhaps to a greater extent than the people of the two countries, especially their rulers. Unfortunately, the media is no longer strong and honest enough to defy the slogan ‘my country right or wrong’. This was because the danger of nuclear weapons being used is greater in South Asia than anywhere else in the world. A surgical strike imposes no additional costs on the aggressor while the cost of the preparedness the victim country must maintain is quite substantial

The Committee of Administrators or CoA running Indian cricket on Friday

"Therefore, we have to act in a manner that this battle has to be decisively won by us because Pakistan is not willing to give up its traditional role in our neighbourhood as a rogue state," the finance minister added."This is not a one-week battle. In a meeting to address the spiralling speculation around the match, the CoA deliberated on the matter but did not take any position for now.The Committee of Administrators or CoA running Indian cricket on Friday decided against taking any stand on the World Cup clash against Pakistan, which is scheduled for June 16 in Old Trafford in England, but said it would individually urge ICC members to "sever ties with any nation that is a terrorist hub". More than 40 paramilitary personnel died in a terrorist attack on February 14 at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. But the kind of anger which has been there, even on previous occasions, the one this time is unprecedented.India will exercise all options, diplomatic or otherwise, to win a decisive battle against Pakistan..You have people sitting in your own country and admitting to the offence and saying that yes we have done it and taking credit for it"."Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already stated that India will exercise all its instruments at its command, whether it is diplomatic or otherwise.Talking about India playing cricket matches with Pakistan, he said at this juncture the atmosphere is hostile and hence the country can not seen to be playing friendly or even competitive matches with them.More than 40 paramilitary personnel died in a terrorist attack on February 14 at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. There is little point in blaming anyone or pointing fingers

But the moot point of her suo moto declaration is that she is active in politics and in the Bharatiya Janata Party chiefly because of personal loyalty and not out of commitment to an ideology or party programme. From being a "party with a difference" known for its ideology, loyalty towards its political fraternity and commitment to the party’s programmes, the adhesive in the party is now focused mostly on an individual. Another way of phrasing the declaration is that for Ms Irani, the leader is paramount over the party and what it stands for. These developments involving the same set of individuals, over a period of a decade and a half, underscores the party’s transition. Yet they remained ideological brothers, never failing to close ranks whenever danger arose from outside.

There is little point in blaming anyone or pointing fingers at individuals responsible for the BJP’s changed political values, but there is a need to be aware of this development and recall Ambedkar’s forewarning.K. Despite Mr Modi’s homage, the political and personal divergence between him and Vajpayee has been well documented. The danger of what has happened to the BJP, how the Congress reoriented itself as chiefly a family hegemonised organisation after 1967 and how other parties became proprietary units has always lurked." Not many BJP leaders would be able to make such an assertion now without risking their stature and position. Deen Dayal Upadhyay, who fronted for the RSS, was, however, more of a Balasaheb Deoras loyalist than a blind admirer of M. Advani duo. Other parties, from the Congress to various factions of the Janata Parivar, which later branched out into family enterprises, even ideological parties like the Bahujan Samaj Party, remain merely personal bastions of insecure yet ambitious leaders. Anyone who doesn’t utter the incessant chant or who does not burst into a cackle of laughter when commanded, is pilloried — recall how defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman was panned when she did not find the joke cracked at China weld studs Factory the expense of Renuka Chaudhury any bit amusing. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Yashwant Sinha and Shanta Kumar — in a statement bemoaned the demise of this party tenet. Further ahead, he read out the words of another great patriot, the Irish leader Daniel O’Connel: "No man can be grateful at the cost of his honour, no woman can be grateful at the cost of her chastity and no nation can be grateful at the cost of its liberty. The BJP now, like all non-Communist parties, has one presiding deity, and anyone not paying obeisance is most likely to be marginalised, if not actually labelled anti-national.

The culture weve built.Rishabh Pant with 350 runs

Indian cricket got its new seminal moment after talismanic Virat Kohli led the country to a maiden series victory on Australian soil, ending a 71-year wait to script a golden chapter in the games history. Australia, New South Wales, Sydney. The culture weve built.Rishabh Pant with 350 runs and a sparkling hundred at the SCG with a record number of dismissals in an away series has now established himself as Indias No 1 wicketkeeper in the Test format.Whether it was the awkward angles along created by Bumrah along with some incisive movements, Mohammed Shami getting it to rip on occasions, Ishant Sharma hitting the right length over after over, India never had it so good in terms of consistency in overseas conditions. The highest score by an Australian batsman in the just-concluded four-match series is 79 by rookie opener Marcus Harris. If this victory is put into perspective with some of Indian crickets famous away series wins, it will be right up there both in terms of novelty as well as quality. For Kohli, this series was more about his leadership choices rather than his insane batting efforts which was comparatively muted by his lofty standards.

The fourth and final Test match at the SCG petered to a barren draw due to inclement weather but not before providing India with a 2-1 series win and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy..Ravichandran Ashwin before he got injured and Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav also played their part to perfection as Indian bowlers put up relentless pressure on the home team batsmen..His bowling changes were spot on and while team selection in Perth came under scanner, no one can question the intent of the Indian skipper, who has shown that he only plays to win a Test match. Just one word to say, proud, to lead this team and its an honour and privilege. While India now gear up to switch format, Kohlis biggest takeaway will be the confidence before they start their perparations for the ODI World Cup. No other Asian captain leave alone Indian captain has won four away Test matches in South Africa, England and Australia in a single calender year.&weld studs039;This is history and a terrific moment for Indian cricket,' said country's greatest opener Sunil Gavaskar."This is history and a terrific moment for Indian cricket," said countrys greatest opener Sunil Gavaskar. India scripted history winning their first ever series on Australian soil beating the home team 2-1 after the fourth and final Test ended in a tame draw due to inclement weather.

Experiments on conformity have been carried out which have established

Experiments on conformity have been carried out which have established that for various reasons, people have an innate tendency to conform even if they know that others are wrong or when a "leader" or an "expert" insists that something that is plainly wrong is correct. Solomon Asch (1951) conducted his classic experiment in 1951 to investigate the extent to which social pressure from a majority group could lead a person to conform. In a school it is usually the teacher’s or the textbook’s interpretation that is accepted.I don’t know why I didn’t get into serious trouble but I used to teach my pupils the value of disobedience. It was the fear that they could follow charismatic but unscrupulous leaders and become unsuspecting objects of exploitation that I included this in my value education lessons. Children’s arguments can be quite exasperating but parents must try not to give into the temptation of saying: "You have to because I am your mother (or father) and I say so!"It has to be kept in mind that obedience is necessary for discipline. Today, not only is this form of valediction archaic but it would actually be frowned upon as it has connotations which are unacceptable by modern ethical standards. It is shocking to see young parents today being completely controlled by their offspring. Many people I know believe in unquestioning obedience to God, guru or teacher and parent.Apart from developing minds of their own, it is important from the educational perspective that the young learn to reason, China insert nut Factory question and argue in real life, in the classroom as well as at home. Even the traditional Christian vows that are exchanged at a church wedding are modified by many so that the bride does not pledge to "obey" her husband till death. This cannot always be peaceful. The point is, just as we need to obey the traffic rules to prevent chaos, obeying certain rules of day-to-day living is needed to lead a productive and meaningful life. Along with discipline they must value disagreement, disobedience and dissidence. "Please do something," they plead with the school authorities, "she just won’t listen to us!" Yet at times, when the school does take action over some misdeed of the child, the same parents protest or try to defend her. In board examinations, marks are not given when answers deviate from the fixed marking scheme. To counter this, it is vital that peaceful or non-violent ways of disobeying and dissenting are adopted. I find it amusing and sometimes infuriating when a man announces expansively that he "allows" his wife complete freedom!Even in unequal relationships such as child and parent and school student and teacher, where obedience is expected of the child, it is important for the child to be given the power of questioning why she should obey a particular order or . This is not only important in a democracy, it is also extremely important for shaping character, for developing individuality and for keeping at bay the herd mentality.

The script was first picked by producer Siddharth

But this film has fallen into my hands easy and the script was loved immediately by the team.."Of course, it is fantastic if you are true to your vision and the film does well. Since I want to bring change, my films should be seen by more people and it would be good to have those numbers. Her next directorial release was the 2015 critically-acclaimed "Margarita With A Straw" about a young Indian woman with cerebral palsy who falls in love with a blind girl. The film is set to release in February next year."It is difficult to make smaller films.Unlike her previous films "Amu" and "Margarita. After her directorial debut with in 2005, Shonali co-wrote and co-produced 2012s "Chittagong", a film by her former husband Bedabrata Pain. I do wish that was not the case."Priyanka was always my first choice. I was delighted to see this," she said.Bose&insert nut Suppliers039;s next "The Sky is Pink" stars Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in the lead. This time "October" writer Juhi Chaturvedi has penned the story."Amu and Margarita."It is unfortunate (that the industry is) driven by star system.

The script was first picked by producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and he was on the same page as me as far the casting went," Shonali said. Shonali Boses next "The Sky is Pink" may have Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in the lead, but the director believes it is still tough to make small film in a star-dominated industry." the film is not written by Shonali."The first film dealt with genocide, the second was about the gay and disabled and in this one, there is death but it is more mainstream in its story.Shonali said Hindi cinema has become more receptive towards stories with female protagonists."Maybe now I will not take that much time as I might not produce my films. Thats why I feel it is easy," she added. But it was fantastically feminist because it clearly said if the ghost is Stree, she takes permission and it is fantastic. I have to be true to my voice and vision."It is not that the film was trying to pick up or talk about an issue. This will help you make the film you want and bring change in the society. Citing the example "Stree", the director said she was surprised how beautifully the message of feminism was woven in the film. Like in case of Amu and Margarita, With A Straw you do not get backing by big studios as stars are not playing roles," she told PTI in an interview. were very difficult to get made. It made a point of no means no in a very subtle way."She said she chose big names for "The Sky is Pink" as the script demanded it. It was a cakewalk. She suits the character really well. Bollywood is still star driven even for one to get backing on the script. It is a true story and it is the journey of how you deal with it," she added..The 53-year-old filmmaker said there are better chances of her film drawing the audiences attention with top actors headlining it..Talking about the long gaps between her films, Shonali said she usually takes three-odd years to write, direct and produce. I will not compromise on that. Shonali Bose. My next The Sky Is Pink is going at rapid speed, Priyanka said yes to it in January and we are finishing it now."Pulmonary fibrosis is a part of the film.As per reports, the film is based on the life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary, who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. The director clarifies the film is a love story of Aishas parents and is not based on her. The film is based on a true story. However, the National Award-winning director said, "I always set out for failure and it doesnt matter if the film doesnt succeed at the box office.Asked if it is essential to be regarded as commercial director, Shonali said numbers matter but she has not let that affect her personally

This struck many as odd given that Mallika had earlier slammed

This struck many as odd given that Mallika had earlier slammed Twinkle Khanna for not taking a stand when her husband Akshay Kumar was accused of passing a sexist remark. Maybe the man was doing these things outside the house, but he was really good at home. "Just because two people part ways, it doesn’t mean the emotional bond between them ends. Often, women who are in abusive marriages justify their husbands’ actions. We try to understand whether women truly believe that their better halves are incapable of sexual misconduct, or if choose to turn a blind eye. Then you have the wives of Nana Patekar, Kailash Kher, and Bhushan Kumar, who are not anything at all," she says, adding, "When it comes to ex-wives, they could also be looking for publicity. Relationship expert Nisha Jamvwal says it’s sheer disbelief."Like Richa, Alok Nath’s wife Ashu Singh also slammed writer Vinta Nanda when she shared a heart-breaking account of sexual assault and rape at the hands of the actor. While some put it down to an act of loyalty, many others wonder why she would come out in support of a man that she is no longer even married to.At a time when men are being publically called out for sexual harassment, they are finding supporters in the women in their lives. Though they may not be spouses or lovers anymore, it doesn’t mean that they don’t have feelings for one another. And no matter what happens, many women choose to keep the marriage intact. As Kangana herself puts it, "Why do they leave their holier-than-thou husbands in the first place?". "The relationship that a husband and wife share is very intense.

They know that the movement is gaining momentum, and they want to be a part of it and use it to their benefit. So it’s difficult for a wife to accept that her husband can do something like this. You’d think that a woman would best understand the plight of another, but that doesn’t seem to be the case when it comes to matters that hit close to home.   When filmmaker Vikas Bahl was accused of misconduct on the sets of the film Queen by actress Kangana Ranaut, one of the first and only people to come to his defence was ex-wife Richa Dubey, who publically slammed Ranaut for misusing the China nut insert CompanyMeToo movement to malign the director." When Vikas was accused of misconduct on the sets of Queen by Kangana Ranaut, the only person to come to his defence was ex-wife Richa Dubey It comes as no surprise that the sexual predators forced out of hiding by the #MeToo movement have all responded in a predictably defensive manner, with legal notices for defamation.According to relationship expert Richa Khepawat, though women may have high standards for the public at large, the game changes when family is involved.Relationship expert Kavyal Sedani points out that the end of a relationship doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the emotional bond shared by a couple. But what surprises us is the number of women who are still standing in support of their husbands, fathers and brothers in the face of scores of serious accusations. "You don’t want to accept that a family member, whom you are so close to, can do something so horrific. In another incident, popular comedienne Mallika Dua came out in support of her father, veteran journalist Vinod Dua, when he was accused of sexual misconduct, sharing a picture of the two of them together with the caption, "Heroes aren’t made or broken overnight

Which religion says that sacrificing animals is the key to salvation

Nepal took up the issue and banned the 300-year-old practice of animal sacrifice during the famous Gadhimai festival, held every five years. Animal sacrifices are practised by those who follow illogical rituals which make no sense. Which religion says that sacrificing animals is the key to salvation? As rightly stated by Mahatma Gandhi, ‘the greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated. It’s hard to do something as the sacrifices are conducted with the support of officials. We humans have destroyed the mother nature by killing other living beings only to satiate our own taste buds! God, culture or heritage has nothing to do with it. During the competition, a bull is released into a crowd as the participants attempt to grab the large hump on the bull’s back with both arms and hang on to it while the bull attempts to escape. No one progresses by sacrificing an innocent soul.illogical and senseless ritualsAnkur Jha, animal loverIt is a very sad state of affairs.Salvation in saving livesViren Sharma, animal loverNo culture, religion or civilisation can progress by assassinating animals. Having said that, I understand this is a topic that requires quite a bit of nuance, and a willingness to listen on both sides.  People never realise that animal sacrifice in name of rituals is wrong. There are millions of MNCs that are exploiting animals for their own agendas, and that is considered rather normal, even today. It is high time people started changing their cultures and traditions towards being more human. The age-long practice of sacrificing buffaloes, chickens and goats has offended animal rights activists all over the world. Animals, too, are creations of God China Weld Studs Fasteners Manufacturers and killing them to please the same God contradicts the meaning of sacrifice. In 2015, Nepal took up the issue and banned the 300-year-old practice of animal sacrifice during the famous Gadhimai festival, held every five years.Akin to walking on EGG shellsShruthi Prakash, animal loverIntervening in religious practices is like walking on egg shells. Following injuries and death (of both the participants and the animals) in connection with the sport, animal rights organisations had been trying to legally ban it. Soon I contacted some of the animal welfare groups to see what can be done about this. According to sources, the upcoming legislation will be applicable only to Hindus even though Muslims also engage in animal sacrifices. I’m aga- inst the use of animals as commodities for food, entertainment and fashion.’I wonder how people do such killings in the name of culture and religion. On the one hand, you wish to put a stop to practices that are unjust and propagate violence, but on the other, you wish to be sensitive towards religious and cultural sentiments. We live in a society where there are cultures which support cruelty to animals. If we protest, people will think we are talking against the temple.

There are students who are good with the professor

According to them, the varsity is on its way to privatise the esteemed law course. The students are unhappy with the move, and the varsity is allegedly turning a blind eye Structural Rivets for sale to their demands.According to students, written exams give a better chance to students to prove their abilities as compared to internal exams, which are more of "you get good marks if you have a better relationship with the concerned professor". Mumbai University (MU) law students are all set to protest the recent implementation of 60:40 examination patterns for them outside Ambedkar Bhavan on Tuesday. The Student Law Council, a students’ body at MU, is organising the protest. This way, they are making it more and more difficult for law students to have a happy academic life," said a student. This should not be the case and it is very partial. The student said, "There are students who are good with the professor and they tend to get better marks due to their impression on the teacher. The Student Law Council, a students’ body at MU, is organising the protest. Nights are starlit and largely devoid of light pollution

Nights are starlit and largely devoid of light pollution as there are only a few human settlements in the area.Light is an important cue for orientation used by many animals and also influences their diurnal rhythms.Warning lights such as these lure migrating bats precisely towards the danger which the lights help people to avoid, leading to bat collisions and casualties. A plastic board fixed to the pole was lit-up in 10-minute intervals alternating with darkness. Scientists suggest that deploying on-demand lighting, which only turns on if an aeroplane approaches, would most likely reduce the problem.Soprano pipistrelles and Nathusius pipistrelles were recorded more frequently at the experimental site during the red light phase than rivet manufacturing during darkness. According to the researchers, bats have excellent eyesight and can even detect wavelengths invisible to us. Here, the scientists installed an eight-meter-high pole near the shoreline. Turns out, this kind of pollution affects bats during their seasonal migration. By using ultrasonic microphones the scientists recorded the echolocation calls of bats coming close in order to identify both the species and the number of bats passing by the unlit or lit experimental site. Light is an important cue for orientation used by many animals and also influences their diurnal rhythms and behaviour. Each year, light pollution increases by around six per cent worldwide. Warning lights such as these lure migrating bats precisely towards the danger which the lights help people to avoid.Exactly why bats are attracted to red light sources is unclear.Oliver Lindecke, co-author of the study explained, "Bats are at a higher collision risk at wind power stations during their autumn migration.

The full findings are present in the journal- Ecology and Evolution. "Many bat species already struggle in our current anthropogenic landscapes characterised by intensive agriculture and high densities of wind turbines. The LED lights illuminating the board switched between red or white LED light. Light pollution is likely to increase pressure on them even further," explained Christian Voigt, one of the researchers.During late summer, thousands of bats migrate along the coastline of the Baltic Sea in Latvia, through Pape Nature Reserve. In contrast, the scientists did not observe such behaviour near-white LED lights. In particular, energy efficient and cheap LEDs are used more and more. It is well established that bats are sensitive to light while hunting at night. In the latest study, scientists tested the response of European bats to red and white light sources during their seasonal migration and according to the research, Soprano pipistrelles and Nathusius pipistrelles (types of bats) were recorded more frequently near red LED light, indicating that the animals might be attracted to red light during their migration. Our study indicates that the use of red light signals could have fatal consequences for them as this appears to attract them to operating wind turbines"Oliver also suggested that existing light signals could easily be replaced by bat-friendly alternatives or context-dependent illumination could be deployed which is only activated if planes or helicopters are approaching a wind power plant. The wavelength of the experimental red LED lights was similar to that of red safety lights used for indicating the presence of wind turbines or tall buildings to aircraft pilots. Some red light sources might potentially blind and disorient them.(Source) While focusing on conventional forms of pollution, we tend to pay less attention to the night time light pollution and how that affects nature
