Auto-ventilated shoes, anyone?

http://www.redbottomshoesnow.com/

In the Philippines, we do not normally wear sneakers during the summer. It's always too warm to put on socks and slip one's feet into sneakers or trainers.

But Glagla, dubbed the original ventilated shoe, is changing that. I road-tested a pair of Glagla sneakers (the Glagla Classic in tutti frutti) for several weeks and I love them so much that I bought another pair (Glagla Lady Glamour in vanilla). My editor has the Classic in metal pink and the ballerina from the Marbella collection in black. The only reason why we have only two is that for now, the colors in the only outlet in the Philippines, at the Level 2 Bridgeway of Power Plant Mall in Rockwelll, Makati City, has a limited number of colors. I am eyeing the Lady Glamour in parma, a metallic lilac.

Glagla was designed by a group of engineers in France. Every Glagla shoes has natural ventilation which allows total circulation of air through the shoe, thanks to the extremely light Drytech mesh used for the upper section. The movement of the foot combined with the Winda'air Technology from the sole increased the natural ventilation so that you can actually feel the air. Wearing the shope lowers foot temperature by six degrees Celsisus compared to other sneakers.

Glagla is the only shoe designed with a revolutionary outsole that takes into acccount nthe morphological fact that 80 percent of foot perspiration comes from the arch of the foot. The two layers of every Glagla shoe is composed of absorbent Drytech fabric and bacteriasafe system so that sweating is reduced and any funky odor is avoided.

Each shoe is only 170 grams or 5.5 ounces so Glagla is not only ventilated, it is also very, very light.

The third layer is made of microperforated molden ethylene vinyl acetate with carbon rubber reinforcement which provides resistance from friction and abrasion and allows for the natural movement of the foot which creates the sensation of walking comfortably without shoes. A metallic wire membrane protects the sole of the feet from the intrusion of external elements and the non-slip quality provides stability on almost all surfaces.

Glagla is called the shoe for summer but it's actually all-weather footwear. The outsole utilizes Neotech+ technology, which is used for deep sea diving suits, and drytech mesh, which doesn't absorb water, so that once wet, Glagla shoes will dry bin minutes. It is machine washable, too.

Glagla comes in several styles and colors. Some colors are for those who are more comfortable but if you like to make a statement, you should get the Classic in tutti frutti, metal pink and metal red.

It's not just a "porma' shoe. Glagla absorbs shocks and vibration transmitted to the foot so you can wear it for any physical activity from walking to biking.

Socialite Tessa Prieto-Valdes, a known sports enthusiast who runs and does yoga, designed the first Glagla store in Metro Manila and is a fan of the brand.

"They're perfect for my lifestle. With so many to choose from, there's a color and style perfect for any outfit and activity. They're extremely light, comfortable and super affordable," she shares.
