Eliza Starr Byard and Eva Maria Kolodner affirmed their partnership yesterday at Dish, a restaurant in New York. The Rev. Kristen Klein-Cechettini, a minister of the Metropolitan Community Church, led the commitment ceremony.
Ms. Byard and Ms. Kolodner graduated from Yale, where they met.
Ms. Byard (above, left) is 36. She works in New York as the deputy executive director of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, a national nonprofit organization fighting anti-gay bias in schools. She is also the chairwoman of Arts Engine, a nonprofit organization in New York that produces and distributes documentaries on social issues. She received a master's and a doctorate in United States history from Columbia.
Ms. Kolodner, 33, is a feature-film producer and a partner in Salty Features, a production company in New York. She was a producer of the film "Boys Don't Cry." She is also a board member of NewFest: The New York Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Film Festival.
