EIUC SUMMER SCHOOL ON CINEMA AND HUMAN RIGHTS
The European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation, based in Venice, Italy (www.eiuc.org) is pleased to launch the first EIUC Summer School on Cinema and Human Rights, to be held in Venice from 25 August to 15 September 2005.
The School wishes to bring together students and professionals involved in both the fields of Human Rights and Cinema to reflect on the use of cinema as an instrument for enhancing human rights awareness.
The School programme will include lectures, discussions, workshops, screenings of films shown at the 2005 Venice International Film Festival and the final production of essays.
The Summer School is organised by EIUC and facilitated by the Venice Film Festival, members of the Human Rights Film Network and UNESCO.
The deadline for applications is 1 May 2005.
