Scene 1 -
(a display of winter idyll in the barn of Herman Baron, a long walk to the house, trees without leaves, and the arrival of a car.The tires slip, it looks as if the driver is drunk, the car rushes over and stops a few centimeters from one tree, a young man, excursions from the car and watching if there are scratches)

NORMAN:Hell! That stupid, stupid ice! (he ran two circles around the car, he took a loud breath and again sat behind the wheel.) He got to the house, walked out, taking care of the ice and knocking on the door. The servant Suzanne opened them)

SUZANNE: Good afternoon, Mr. Schiffer. Baron Herman awaits you (she bowed. Norman stepped in, looked over the decorated, luxurious corridor and the Christmas tree in the corner that stood. Suzana moved forward, he followed her)

SUZANNE: He was expecting you an hour ago!

NORMAN: I know, but it was that stupid ice!
(they came to the office. The elderly man, Baron Herman sat at the table and smoked a pipe.) Suzana retreated)

BARON: So, Norman, you're here!

NORMAN: (Smiles and folds into the armchair, grabs the tunic in the hand and turns in the hand to play with her.) Lively and healthy. Mr. Herman should come to you. So much ice on the approach.

BARON: (he takes out the lips out of his mouth for a moment) Ice? But we did it.

NORMAN: Some places are slipping. For a while, I slammed a car.

BARON: (laughs) Oh don`t say that, Norman, you're a little drunk. Which is not good, because now it is still daytime. And that (look at the clock) passed two, and you've already gotten mad.

NORMAN: I'm not drunk, it's just a terrible trip. And it's cold. You were not out today, Baron Herman, otherwise you would know that the weather is terrible. Probably the coldest January I know about.

BARON: (He shrugs his shoulders) You're overwhelming the young Normans, you're going a little more and you'll be traveling. Imagine how cool it is in the Baltic Sea where you will sail. Since you are fine, you have to freeze at the first wind. About the iceberg, I do not even say. (Smile) When are you sailing?

NORMAN: Tomorrow.

BARON: Are you sure this is a smart choice?

NORMAN: It will not be a smart choice nor to stay here. As far as I know, baron Herman, you will not be here soon?

BARON: No, I'll be in Copenhagen. There's my cousin where I'm leaving. I have not seen it for a long time. She has been married for 20 years already and moved to Denmark. You were then (the older man gacked it) for about 7 years and you could only run for a ball and play on the street with a little boy.

NORMAN: Will you be in Denmark for a long time?

BARON: (Looks at his eyebrows) Long enough until I see how the situation will develop in Germany. I hear a lot of that bad lately.

NORMAN: Much of this is bad and happens.

BARON: (He puts the pipe in front of him) I could much avoid it. So I think it would be good to talk about why you are here today.

NORMAN: Letter!
