Many other weavers said they still dont have clarity on GST for textile sector. I don’t have more space. The IE report adds that a woman who earned Rs 14,000 a month by working at a twisting ans mending machine lost her job. On cotton yarn there is 5 per cent GST. Bhiwandi has over 4 lakh powerloom machines run by workers many of them are from north India who had migrated to the town in search of bread.Ahmeds FT Textiles runs 5,000 powerlooms. He adds that as there is no clarity it is harder for them to explain small weavers the nitty-gritty of GST. According to reports the government has put man-made yarns under 18 per cent GST bracket
