As Zion Williamson and his New Orleans Pelicans prepare to resume play, Jordan Brand has readied a new Air Jordan 34 “Noah” PE for Zion to take the court in. What makes the “Noah” special? It was “designed” by Zion’s beloved 7-year-old step brother Noah Anderson, and features special scribbles drawn by Noah himself during one of Zion’s meetings with the Jordan Brand design team.
Uppers are constructed of high-tech white mesh and synthetics, with each piece rimmed by thick black lines. Noah’s doodles are spread across the entirety of this top half, and appear in a veritable cornucopia of colors: orange on toeboxes and lateral quarters, yellow on medial quarters and around forefoot bumpers, green on collars, blue on eyestays, purple on tongues and throats and bright red on heels. These bright accents and bold black lines provide a cartoon-y look that calls to mind images of LeBron James‘s ultra-rare Nike LeBron 6 “Stewie Griffin” PE.
However, the most notable embellishment appears on the insoles thanks to a tear-jerkingly sweet “To Zion, Love Noah” spellout done up in Noah’s own handwriting. Branding is provided by a black Jumpman logo on the tongue and a black Nike Air hit on the heel. Unlike the upper, things are kept simple on the midsole with a white and black Eclipse Plate cushioning setup and an icy blue outsole.
Jordan Brand has used the Air Jordan 34 as a blank canvas for its team members’ expression over the course of the NBA season. The “Noah” follows up Zion’s “Bayou Boys” PE from February, and also joins the ranks of other grin-inducing makeups like Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum‘s “Taco Jay” PE.
Expect the Air Jordan 34 “Noah” to release on Nike SNKRS come July 30, priced at $195 USD.
