On Wednesday night’s Brooklyn Nets’ home game win against the San Antonio Spurs, Blake Griffin stepped out in an exclusive “McLovin”-themed Air Jordan 35.
Designed back in 2019 during an annual team trip when Griffin was still playing for the Detroit Pistons, the idea was initially planned for the Air Jordan 34 but carried over to the new model.
The theme is based on one of Griffin’s favorite movies, Superbad. In one scene, Fogell, played by Christopher Mintz-Plasse, creates a fake Hawaii driver’s license in order to finesse the liquor store.
Customizing the shoe like a fake ID, the Jordan team styled it in a white and blue colorway with the license on the tongue reading the usual information and slapping on the line “Chikka Chikka” on top of the toe, from when Fogell showed off the license. The cherry on top is the customized name section reading “McGriffin.”
