Can you handle my truth?
When we met, you thought you knew the kind of person I am.
Truth is, you didn’t have a clue about me.
You figured I was like the rest and would be okay with games, disrespect and being treated like just another option.
I guess that’s why you were so surprised when I wasn’t okay with any of that.
I’ve been there, done that and I’ll never accept being treated less than I deserve.
Maybe the others were okay with scraps of your attention, but that’s not how I roll.
I don’t play for part time, some of the time or leftovers.
I play for keeps, each and every time..because I love with all my heart when I do love,
Though my affection isn’t for everyone.
I’m selective with my time, attention and love and anyone that seeks my heart should be ready to be real, authentic and loyal.
I’m not for the absent minded, lackluster or weaker ones..
They all just say I’m “too much.”
I’ll take too much every time-
Too much passion.
Too much love.
Too much intensity.
Too much of all the good things that make me special and one of a kind.
So, if Love comes knocking on my door, it better come without expectations, judgement or conditions,
Because my version of forever isn’t going to have any of those limitations.
So, maybe I’ll be doing life solo for a while, but I’m okay with that.
I’d rather be happy alone than be miserable with someone that doesn’t get me or respect me.
And before you think you tell me that I have an attitude, know that I’m well aware that I do:
It’s called “my life, my choices.”
And if you can’t respect that or me, well,
I’m not asking you to..
I don’t need your permission or approval to be happy.
But if you want to be part of my life, this is your chance.
This is about get real..
