The donkey said to the tiger:
- The grass is blue.
Tiger replied:
- Well, the grass is green.
The debate flared up and they both persisted in their own and decided to turn to the lion, the king of the jungle.
Before he reached the clearing in the woods, where a lion sat on a throne, the donkey began to shout:
- Majesty, is it true that the grass is blue?
Leo replied:
- It's true the grass is blue.
The donkey rushed forward and continued:
- Tiger does not agree with me, denies me and annoys me, punish him.
The king then declared:
- The tiger will be punished with 5 years of silence.
The donkey jumped for joy and went on his way, repeating with satisfaction:
- The grass is blue, the grass is blue.
Tiger said he would accept the punishment, but first asked the lion:
- Majesty, why did you punish me, after all, the grass is green?
Leo replied:
- In reality, the grass is green.
Tiger said:
- Then why are you punishing me?
Leo replied:
- This has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is such because a brave, intelligent creature like you must not waste time arguing with a donkey, and yet at the end you come and bother me with that question.
The worst waste of time is arguing with a stubborn fanatic who doesn’t care about truth or reality, but only to defeat your beliefs.
Never waste time on discussions that don’t make sense.
There are people who, despite the evidence presented to them, are unable to understand others who are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment and the only thing they want is to be right even if they are wrong.
When ignorance terrorizes, intelligence retreats.
Your peace and quiet are worth more than some irrelevant quarrel.
