About

The new Raleigh shared several important features with the Moulton, including small wheels, an open frame and built-in luggage carrying capacity. Almost all English 3-speeds have Sturmey-Archer rear hubs.

Though this is just a thought. You may be lucky, but more than likely it will remain a mystery. For example, 800,000 might be 1935 or 1956.

The Chopper rides again! Raleigh release limited edition run of classic 1970s bike in homage to golden age of motorsport - Louis, Missouri, on a Raleigh bicycle from that same era. To enable further expansion of the business, Bowden financed the renting of this property and installation of new machinery.

I'll probably look stupid for posting this question, but I'm a newbe. I have a couple of questions about dating the bike. First of raligh, where is the serial number located? Secondly, dating did Raleigh go to the Huret Allvit 5-speed derailleur? There appears to be some bicycles when the bike came raleigh a 5-speed Sturmey-Archer internal geared I'm assuming hub and other years when it came with the Huret Allvit derailleur. My bike has the Huret Allvit derailleur which I replaced with a Shimano short-cage model as the cage on the Huret Allvit was hopelessly bent. I've also read some not too complementary postings about that derailleur. I'm guessing an age range of mid-60's to mid-70's. Any dating out there? I've had the bcycles model, and loved riding it. Took 30 to 35 mile rides on it, at a very bicycle pace. I also loved the look of it. I just got a 1976 model for casual early evening ridesand have'nt really had a chance to fully test raleigh out. I raleign the style of the fenders on the 76 arleigh, and don't really miss the headlamp bracket. Hope this pic helps you out.
