What an awesome experience these two provided to our group -- everyone got up and rode a wave, everyone stayed safe, and everyone came back smiling. The audio tour also walks visitors through the 10,000 square foot museum located in the park which features hundreds of artifacts like photos, flags, paintings, weaponry, and scale to size models of submarines.
The amenities at the park allow for a great day. Recall I have only surfed twice before this!

My girlfriend and I decided to take 2 semi-private lessons with Ivan and Jen over the course of 2days during waikki vacation in Hawaii and they had us up 'shreddin' the waves in no time. As a testament to the quality of instruction we received, we put our newfound skill set to use and found a few hours surfing on our own each day for the remainder of our holiday! I'm a 60yo woman who has never surfed before. I had a 2 day surfing over in Honolulu and decided to surging it a go after reading the hook reviews. Ivan was the best instructor I could ever have wished for! It was easy to book the lesson. He gave initial instructions on land before getting in the water. He explained everything perfectly and even though I was a little nervous Ivan made me feel 100% confident and made sure it was fun too. I got up on the surfing on my 4th attempt and by the end of the 2 hour lesson he had me surfing the wave 200yards! What an unforgettable experience. I'd highly recommend Ivan at Hook Up Surfing My younger cousin 19 years and myself 38 years booked a semi-private hook with Ivan. Neither waikiki us had surfed before and were a bit nervous about the experience. Ivan was absolutely amazing. He instantly made us feel at ease the moment we met him, and gave such surfjng and easy-to-follow instructions. We both stood book several times and had an incredible afternoon. I highly recommend Ivan. He focuses on technique, safety, and fun, and we hope to have another lesson with him again in the future! My family of four including two teenagers booked a semi-private lesson with Ivan and Jen. This was our first attempt at surfing and we couldn't have asked for more encouraging, patient, friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable instructors. My two teenagers caught on immediately and even mom was able to finally stand up on the board. Our family had a great time and we highly recommend Hook Up Surfing! I travel to Honolulu on average about twice a month. I always go out surfing with Ivan and Jenn from Hook up Surfing. They are both excellent instructors--positive and encouraging. If you want to have a fun and positive experience they are definitely worth it. I would not bargain shop when it comes to being on the water while in Waikiki />In other words, this is why you come to Hawaii--go with the best!.

There are lifeguards on duty to protect the safety of the swimmers. Over 13,000 World War Two veterans who died in the war were laid to rest in the National Cemetery of the Pacific. They are very down to earth and kind.
