ADMIRAL HOWE, 18TH CENTURY INCARNATION OF EVELYN ROTHSCHILD

Evelyn Rothschild is the well known member of this family; from 1976 to 2003 he was executive chairman of NM Rothschild & Sons. After member of the French Rothschilds took over this duty, he went on as non-executive chairman of the said firm. He held various other posts in other companies, like Deputy chairman of Milton Keynes Development Corporation 1971-1984; Director De Beers Consolidated Mines from 1977 to 1994; Chairman of Swiss-registered Rothschild Continuation Holdings from 1982 to 2003, to name just a few.

So, in this lifetime, we can say that he's succesful businessman. In the past lifetimes, he was not necessarilly always a businessman, as for instance, in his 18th century incarnation he was succesfull military leader; more precisely he was an Admiral, of the Royal Navy. His name was Richard Howe (1726-1799), and beside being Admiral, he was also a member of the nobility, as awarded with Earldom in 1788. [btw Walter Semkiw, in my opinion erringly atributes this incarnation to Jimmy Carter.]
He exceeded during several naval campaigns, in Seven Years War, American Revolutionry War and especially in the battle known as Glorius 1st of June, during the period of French Revolutionry Wars. He became Treasurer of the Navy in 1765, and in 1770 had a promotion into the lowest admiral rank (rear-admiral), relatively early in career, when he was just 44 years old. Howe became First Lord of the Admiralty in January 1783, and was promoted to the highest rank in navy, Admiral of the Fleet, in 1796.
I found an interesting fact in Military Encyclopedia, that is, that he began a new phase in Navy tactics, by his victory in Glorious 1st of June (1894), when he used in practice the ideas of John Clerk, Sotish reformer of navy tactics.
In 1758 Admiral Howe married Mary Hartop, who became Mary, Countess of Howe. In my opinion her present incarnation is Victoria, the second wife of Evelyn Rothschild.
Admiral Howe's father was Emanuel Howe, 2nd Viscount Howe. His mother Charlotte was daughter of Countess of Darlington, half sister of King George I (incarnation Alfred Hitchcock). As I was in my former life Frederick V of the Palatinate, that means – I was a distant relative of his (Admiral Howe's )mother.
