VVDI2 BMW Program BMW CAS EWS IMMO Key
VVDI2 BMW support to program BMW EWS and CAS by OBD,EEPROM Dump file.If OBD way not available,please use VVDI Prog to read eeprom dump file from immo,then use VVDI2 BMW to program new key.Here we will introduce some basic knowledge about BMW immobilizer system,and which tool is suitable for your BMW car models.

BMW MULTI Tool also can support,but bmw multi tool firmware and software stop updating any more.VVDI2 BMW fully replace BMW MULTI Tool.
If OBDII Way,CAS Plug way not support,please use VVDI Prog to read eeprom dump file.

2.How do you know BMW EWS and CAS type?
BMW Car brand is generally divided into two categories: EWS and CAS.
EWS immo:EWS1,EWS2,EWS3,EWS4
CAS immo:CAS1,CAS2,CAS3,CAS3+,CAS4
1.1.We distinguish by car year.
1) 2000-2003/04 BMW 3 series, series,7series straight shank remote control key is EWS system.

In CAS1 system, there are many different type,but the most usual one is the old 7 series. MC68HC12DG128 (0K50E) module like pic shows:
2)2004-2006 BMW 3 series, 5 series, Z4, X5, X3 CAS2 system.

And one more another straight shank remote control key (similar to Land rover key) with BMW logo with black color, which is also CAS2.
3)CAS3: BMW 3 series, 5 series before 2010 year.

1.2 Check BMW Key Type
CAS1:BMW 7series should insert the smart card into the slot and press start key.
CAS2:straight shank remote key.
CAS3:If BMW key needs insert smart card into the slot and press one key start vehicle, almost these keys are before CAS3+, and higher possibility of BMW CAS3.
CAS4:This new key no need to insert the smart card to slot, one key start.
