WERE THERE ANY AUSTRIAN-BORN INCARNATONS OF HABSBURG EMPERORS?

Answering the above question we can say with certainty that there WERE Austrian-born present/20th century incarnations of Habsburg rulers. One of them is, for example, incarnation of Maria Therese's father, Holy Roman Emperor Charles VI, that is – actor Helmut Berger, actor born at Bad Ischl, Austria, well known tourist resort, where Franz Josef I used to spend his summer vacations. He is famous actor known for his collaboration with Italian movie director Luchino Visconti. Actor's wife Francesca Guidato (Italian writer) is incarnation of Holy Roman Empress Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel.
Charles VI (1685 – 1740) succeeded his elder brother, Joseph I, as Holy Roman Emperor, King of Bohemia, King of Hungary and Croatia, and King of Serbia, Archduke of Austria, etc., in 1711. He married Elisabeth Christine of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, by whom he had his two children: Maria Theresa, born 1717, the last Habsburg sovereign, and Maria Anna, born 1718, Governess of the Austrian Netherlands. Four years before the birth of Maria Theresa, faced with his lack of male heirs, Charles provided for a male-line succession failure with the Pragmatic Sanction of 1713. The Emperor favoured his own daughters over those of his elder brother and predecessor, Joseph I, in the succession, ignoring the decree he had signed during the reign of his father, Leopold I.
Helmut Berger, incarnation of Holy Roman Emperor, as young man studied in Italy, and in 1964 went to Rome, where in 1964 he first met Luchino Visconti. Visconti gave him his first acting role in the film Le streghe (The Witches, 1967), but he gained international prominence as the amoral Martin von Essenbeck in Visconti's The Damned (1969). In Visconti's Ludwig (1972), Berger portrays Ludwig II of Bavaria from his blooming youth to his dissolute final years. (Emperor in a role of king!)
In the 1990s, Berger acted in the music video to Madonna's song "Erotica" in 1992. This is interesting, having in mind that Madonna is incarnation of French queen, Eleanor of Austria, wife of King Francis I (1515-1547). (Incarnations of emperor and queen in the same music video!)

Exactly 50 years earlier, on the same day (29th of May 1894), in Vienna was born novie director Josef von Sternberg. He is incarnation of Holy Roman Emperor Matthias I, born also in Vienna in 1557. After moving to USA as a teenager, he later, in the 1920s started his Hollywood career. Now one interesting citation from Wikipedia, in article about him: „Sternberg worked on late silent films in the late 1920s, by which time he had adopted the use of "von" in his name, a pretension to aristocratic origins to which he had no claim.” We who knows that he is incarnation of an emperor, can only laugh to this remark. Josef von Sternberg discovered then-unknown actress Marlene Dietrich. He helped to create the Dietrich legend in the six additional films they made together in Hollywood.
Holy Roman Emperor Matthias married Archduchess Anna of Austria (incarnation: Jeanette McBride, von Sternberg’s wife), daughter of his uncle Archduke Ferdinand II of Austria, whose successor in Further Austria Matthias became in 1595. Their marriage did not produce surviving children.
Incarnation of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II (1578-1637) is another aristocrat, born in Vienna in 1861. His name is Ferdinand I of Bulgaria. Interesting fact is, that they have the same first name, and both are emperors. Ferdinand I was the ruler of Bulgaria from 1887 to 1918; firstly as knyaz (ruling prince, 1887–1908) and later as tsar (king, 1908–18). He was also an author, botanist, entomologist and philatelist. He stems from the same house as today’s Windsors, Britain’s monarchs (House Saxe-Coburg-Gotha). Wikipedia says: “Indeed, the ducal family of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha had contrived to occupy, either by marriage or by direct election, several European thrones in the course of the 19th century. Following the family trend, Ferdinand was himself to found the royal dynasty of Bulgaria.” To save the throne, Ferdinand I abdicated in favor to his eldest son, at the end of World War I, in October 1918.
Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II had two wives, whose incarnations are two Tzar’s wives. Incarnation of Maria Anna of Bavaria is Marie Louise of Bourbon-Parma, and incarnation of Eleanor Gonzaga is Eleonore Reuss of Köstritz. Pay attention on their first names. Holy Roman Emperor and his two wives incarnated all with same first names, three centuries later!
