SCREENPLAY “THE SECRET OF MARQUISE DE CHAMPAGNE” BASED ON NOVEL WRITTEN BY DAJANA DIVERNO

Wonderful and young marquise Caroline de Champagne lives in Champagne, and is married for a middle aged marquis de Champagne. She leads an empty life, and is passionate about playing a piano. She lives surrounded by wealth and vineyards, and her complete life is occasionally under control of aunt of her husband, Joanna de Champagne. Her husband forms a love relationship with a mistress Nina from Riviera and plans to get rid of his own wife by sending her to Paris, on a so called education and to learn to play a piano. Before going to Paris, Caroline found out about his secret relationship…. but decided not to say anything.
With Aunt Johanna, young marquise de Champagne moves to Paris, meets a local social cream de la cream, Teresa Cartagena and Catherine Ralard. Her piano teacher is a real Parisian “Don Juan” Jean Louis Durdo, which aunt Johanna did not like at all, since she knew his reputation.
They visited a large fair at the Tepess family, inland, where after a sword fight, Caroline and Durdo formed a love relationship, which continued in Paris. Caroline got pregnant and didn’t tell anyone, she returned, with maid Emma, to the estate, where she found her husband with a young mistress from Riviera. During one fight her husband died, and left her everything in a will.

CHARACTERS-MARQUISE CAROLINE DE CHAMPAGNE-Young marquise, naďve, passionate about learning to play a piano and wishing to become a real lady. She form a forbidden relationship which results with a child.
MARQUIS DE CHAMPAGNE- Caroline’s husband, older man, with solid way of thinking, selfish period of enjoyment with his mistress at Riviera.
JEAN LOUIS DOURODOU- young piano teacher who seduces marquise de Champagne, actor of forbidden relationship, he falls in love with her.
AUNT JOHANNA-aunt of marquis de Champagne, supervises the life of Caroline de Champagne in Paris. Old, boring, annoying being.
TERESA CARTAGENA- Marquise’s friend in Paris, jabbering lady who informs her about everything.
MAID EMMA- one of Caroline de Champagne’s trusted friend.
MADAM NINI-mistress of marquis de Champagne, from Riviera. An arrogant and possessive being, who does not care about Caroline.
MADAM ELISE-Parisian lady, Caroline’s friend, jabbering, pushy being, very wealthy and rich.
