Alternate TOTY Prediction

Aaron's launched his rather fine looking TOTY Predicition for 2015 and it has most of the big names you'd expect to see. But what if Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar didn't hog the limelight? With that in mind we've pulled together our Alternate TOTY using the same 55 man FIFA short-list you can see here excluding our 'real' predictions. Got it?

There are also a host other players who didn't make the FIFA short-list at all, so hit us up with those suggestions in the comments. cheapest trusted fifa fut coin sellers And who knows, some of these guys may make the final team on January 11th too. If David Luiz can make it, anyone can...
Goalkeepers
GK: David De Gea - Manchester United
Manuel Neuer may indeed be the smart pick for the TOTY, but if the award is judged as it should be. There quite simply hasn't been a bigger contribution by a goalkeeper anywhere, than De Gea's at Man United. Without him, United wouldn't have made the top four last season, and in this one, chepaest fiifa coin site they'd be no where near it either. He has single game highlight reels that would be better than Neuer's year long equivalent.
Defenders
LB: Marcelo - Real Madrid
I'm not going to lie, I have a serious soft spot for Marcelo. It could be his hair, his swashbuckling style, or it could be his innocent "it wasn't me face" after he commits his trademark blatant foul. He's been a stalwart for Real's defence this year and a heavy assist contributor too. You'd be pushed to find a better left back, and that's kind of the point of TOTY really.

CB: David Alaba - Bayern Munich
David Alaba has been a revelation since Pep Guadiola's arrival in Munich, and over the last year he's acquitted himself expertly where ever he's been asked to play. This season he's settled nicely at centre half where his pace, power and passing suit Bayern's style down to the ground. He has a thunder-bastard of fifa 16 coins good a strike on him and at just 23, the world at his feet too. He may not make the cut this time, but he should appear in many a TOTY in the future.

CB: Gerard Pique - Barcelona
Omitted from last year's TOTY and from our prediction this time around too. And that's a pretty raw deal for Gerard Pique who has been absolutely integral to Barcelona's mammoth trophy haul in 2015. One of the best centre backs around, and with an eye for the odd important goal, I'd have him in the main TOTY easily, let alone this alternate version. As I said, if David Luiz can make it...

CB: Diego Godin - Atletico Madrid
Diego Godin is captain consistency, and for that reason he tends to get overlooked when it comes to award time. Not just this year, but the one preceding it too, he's been a rock at the heart of Atletico Madrid's defence and for me, it's about time he got some top level recognition. A true leader of men, who's continued to surpass expectations at Atleti whoever he plays alongside.
Midfielders
CM: Paul Pogba - Juventus
The rise of Paul Pogba has perhaps slowed a touch with Juve's form in the first part of this season, but even so he was truly unstoppable at times in Juventus' Serie A triumph, and Champions League run towards the end of last. He's up against some stiff competition for the midfield three slots and with some of FIFA's "favourite" names in the mix he's unlikely to make the cut however beastly his TOTY would be.

CM: Sergio Busquets - Barcelona
I've voiced this opinion in quite a few posts now, but for me, Sergio Busquets is the best CDM in world football, bar none. And yet, he very rarely gets a look in at TOTY time, despite Barcelona's continual success. He makes the dirty work in midfield seem like a fine art and his mere presence allows Barca's all-star forward line to do what they do best. Without him, Barcelona just don't tick.

CM: Marco Verratti - PSG
Marco Verratti is one of those midfielders I just love to watch. The way he dictates games and drives PSG from midfield is a sight to behold at times and his metronomic pass completion rate of well over 90% for the last 3 seasons is up there with the very, very best. He's likely to suffer the same fate as Pogba, but man, what a TOTY his would be also.
Forwards
LW: Alexis Sanchez - Arsenal
Ever since the miniature, tanned genius arrived at Arsenal he's taken the Premier League by storm. where to buy safest fifa coins Scoring freely and dribbling past more defenders than we can count. But sadly for Alexis Sanchez there is zero chance of a TOTY first eleven appearance due to the forward trio of Ballon d'Or nominees. And that my friends, is very sad indeed.

ST: Robert Lewandowski - Bayern Munich
Along with Suarez, Robert Lewandowski is very much part of the 'next-best' strikers in the world category, and although he wasn't hammering in goals quite as freely in spells last season. He's started this one on fire with 15 goals in 14 starts, including that record breaking 5 goal haul as a substitute. Bayern of course romped to the title, but the Champions League alluded them which doesn't help Robert's chances.

RW: Luis Suarez - Barcelona
If it weren't for the sheer genius of Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo, Luis Suarez would walk in to the TOTY forward role in any other footballing era. He just happens to be caught among a golden generation of absolute superstars, two of which he spends most of his time hugging after their latest goal. 16 goals and 14 assists last season and 15 goals already this campaign. A monster of a modern forward.

Hit the comments with your outside shouts for a TOTY appearance, and anyone you feel should be on FIFA's 55 man short-list.
