Do You Know Cable and Wire Markers
Cable markers are used for cable and wire identification. It is beneficial for overall project efficiency and productivity, as well as critical to the safety of those involved by using proper cable wire marker identification.
There are many different types of cable wire markers on the market. This article introduces two common types of them.
One type is Vinyl Cloth Wire Marker (shown on the left). As the name shows, it is made of vinyl cloth and is available as wire marker cards or bound in wire marker books. These cable wire markers are available in a multitude of legends and colors and also are available in solid and sequential numbers, letters, symbols and the solid NEMA colors. Meanwhile, the letters and numbers in cable wire marker books are often printed with a permanent black ink that will last and provide clear information on vinyl cloth cable wire markers. Vinyl cloth wire markers are mainly applied during wire assembly and electrical installation, and will not slip or slide.
Another is Color Coded Wire Marker (shown below) which is color coded with numeric numbers. This type of cable wire marker is removable and reusable and made of elastic materials, such as PP material. It not only saves space, but also is uneasy to fall off. Color coded wire markers are quite ideal for cable wire marking applications.
