The Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable (QSFP) is a compact, hot-pluggable transceiver used for data communications applications. It interfaces networking hardware to a fiber optic cable. It is an industry format jointly developed and supported by many network component vendors, allowing data rates from 4x10 Gbit/s. The format specification is evolving to enable higher data rates; as of May 2013, highest possible rate is 4x28 Gbit/s.
QSFP+ Cable Assemblies are high speed, low latency, twinaxial copper cables used for high speed network backbones, enterprise network switching and network storage. The cables offer a highly cost-effective way to establish a 40 Gigabit link between QSFP+ ports of QSFP+ switches within racks and across adjacent racks. QSFP+ cables are used for 40GBASE and Infniband standards, to maximize performance. We provide QSFP+ cables including 40G QSFP+ passive copper cables, active copper cables and active optical cables. In addition, Optical QSFP cables also have high speed data rates and support Ethernet, Infiniband, Fibre Channel and other applications. One can buy them from various reputable online stores. These cables are reasonably priced and available in different lengths.
Cisco 40GBASE QSFP+ portfolio offers customers a wide variety of high-density and low-power 40-Gigabit Ethernet connectivity options for data center, high-performance computing networks, enterprise core and distribution layers, and service provider applications.
Cisco QSFP to four SFP+ copper direct-attach breakout cables (Figure 1) are suitable for very short distances and offer a very cost-effective way to connect within racks and across adjacent racks. These breakout cables connect to a 40G QSFP port of a Cisco switch on one end and to four 10G SFP+ ports of a Cisco switch on the other end. Cisco currently offers passive cables in lengths of 1, 3, and 5 meters and active cables in lengths of 7 and 10 meters.

Cisco QSFP to Four SFP+ Active Optical Breakout Cables
Cisco QSFP to four SFP+ active optical breakout cables are suitable for very short distances and offer a flexible way to connect within racks and across adjacent racks. Active optical cables are much thinner and lighter than copper cables, which make cabling easier. Active optical cables enable efficient system airflow and have no electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues, which is critical in high-density racks. These breakout cables connect to a 40G QSFP port of a Cisco switch on one end and to four 10G SFP+ ports of a Cisco switch on the other end. Cisco currently offers active optical breakout cables in lengths of 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 10 meters.
Cisco QSFP to QSFP Active Optical Cables
Cisco QSFP to QSFP copper direct-attach 40GBASE-CR4 cables are suitable for very short distances and offer a flexible way to connect within racks and across adjacent racks. Active optical cables are much thinner and lighter than copper cables, which make cabling easier. Active optical cables enable efficient system airflow and have no EMI issues, which are critical in high-density racks. Cisco currently offers active optical cables in lengths of 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10 meters.
