Tijekom završetka snimanja albuma "Erotica", neiskorišteni demo materijali su prikupljeni na audio kazetama označene kao "The Rain Tapes". Trio Shep Pettibone, Madonna i Tony Shimkin su jedini vlasnici tih snimaka, a to je potvrdio i sam Shimkin prije dvije godine. Stoga nije poznato odakle se pojavljuju.
The Rain Tapes sadrži razne demo snimke pjesama koje su dospjele na "Erotica", kao i one neiskorištene poput "Shame", "You Are The One" i "Jitterburg". Još uvijek nije poznato da li se "Dear Father" i "Love Hurts" nalaze na istim ili su pak ostavljene na drugim materijalima.
