Two old friends who have often shared the stage now make their first recording together. Piano and harmonica is an unusual pairing but German blues and boogie pianist Christian Bleiming and Matt Walsh, the Irish singer and harp blower, show how well they get along musically.
It’s their first CD together. But they have known each other for more than 20 years and have often shared the stage. Just how well Christian Bleiming and Matt Walsh get along is evidenced on "MC Shuffle." Song, piano and harp meet up here for a blues session. Blues in their best form, that is, traditional and idiosyncratic, filled with feelings and perfectly identifiable at the same time. For decades, already, Walsh has been considered a convincing singer and creative harp player. A man for whom the common epithet "personal style" is no platitude, and who received, among others, the German Record Critics' Prize in 2007. Christian Bleiming has been at home on German stages for years. He has played with the likes of Chuck Berry, Louisiana Red, Aron and Larry Burton, Hazy Osterwald, Angela Brown, and many more.
