Over the years, Carlos and I occasionally perform as a duo when there is not enough money to pay the full band. We have plowed through such gigs with my very modest proficiency in the picking styles of country blues artists like Mississippi John Hurt, Lightnin' Hopkins, Bukka White, Robert Johnson, etc. applied to the 50's and 60's electric Chicago blues material that is the staple of our full band. Little by little we have gotten better at this to the point where we thought it might be worth documenting a live performance. My playing is a bit rough around the edges, but I hope enjoyable, and Carlos is at the top of his game here with his harp and singing IMO. This CD is dedicated to our friends who have left us - Tim, Sean, Donnie, and Frank. We are proud to call them our friends and thankful for the gift of having been able to make music with them. ~Jim "Tase Bud" Ransone
