So today (Thursday) was a busy day. I’m going to start by saying that we’ve been potty training Kaden for about 5 days straight now. He did really good last summer but then didn’t show any interest in it again until recently. He is doing AMAZING! He always wants to wear underwear now, but I insist when we go shopping or play outside that he wear a diaper (just incase).
Joe went and got an eye exam (Kaden can spot coyotes in the backyard before Joe can-his eyes are SO bad!). He got a prescription and we went shopping for glasses, and went out for lunch. The entire time we were gone Kaden was wearing a diaper, but when we got home the first thing he wanted to do was go on the potty. So I took off his dry-as-a-bone diaper and he went pee on the potty (Yay!!) Later that day we played outside, and the same thing happened. He doesn’t want to pee in his diaper anymore, he wants to be a big boy :)
Ok, now getting to the photo. I went to work last night, and on the way home I stopped at the spot Joe’s sister Kelly had her wedding photo’s done. My friend April had taken some nights shots downtown and inspired me to do the same. I have a few more I will post, but I liked this one best for my 365.
One last thing, when I got home from work Joe and I noticed that the sump pump has been running a little more then normal lately. We went in the creepy crawl space (basement) and saw that our hot water tank has a leak at the bottom because it’s so rusted from our disgusting hard water. Now I’m just waiting for my landlord to send his maintenance guy over to replace the tank. As much as I love this place (cozy 3 bdrm farmhouse on 140 acres), I can’t wait to have my own house with NORMAL water!! Ruins my hair, ruins my clothes, I can’t cook with it, or drink it.. Time to start saving money for a house!
Sump Pump Housing
The black thing on the floor is where the sump pump is. It's set into the floor and covered with a lid, which they can open if it ever requires maintenance. The maintenance contract is $75 per year, which includes fixing the pump if it ever breaks, as well as two inspections per year.
The gunk on the wall is adhesive foam where there was wooden shelving prior to this work being done. That gunk will probably have to be scrubbed off or something.
