Bach Professional Trumpet

I can't believe I am at day 80!
Most people in my life today probably don't realize, or maybe don't even care, that I was actually a very different person before going to [business] school and becoming a "professional."
I indeed was a musician. I was pretty accomplished too. My first true love was playing the trumpet, and that love took me all over the US. My most rewarding experience was playing and marching with the Santa Clara Vanguard (from 1997-1999). I even ended up teaching marching band, along with playing with many different jazz bands and other ensembles along the way.
It's during those years with SCV that I really feel like I "grew up." I finally learned what hard work was, and even got a taste of victory and performing at the highest levels. It's those years that helped shape me into the man I am today.
That time seems like an eternity ago; an entirely different lifetime.
I don't expect most people to understand how or why my experiences shaped me, or the lifelong impact the Vanguard organization had on me. That would be silly. I just find it funny that some who know me today would never had imagined the life I experienced before.
Funny how time changes things.
