how to get motivated for weight loss

    weight loss
  • Weight loss, in the context of medicine, health or physical fitness, is a reduction of the total body mass, due to a mean loss of fluid, body fat or adipose tissue and/or lean mass, namely bone mineral deposits, muscle, tendon and other connective tissue.

  • Weight Loss is a 2006 novel by Upamanyu Chatterjee.

  • "Weight Loss" is the fifth season premiere of the American comedy television series The Office, and the show's seventy-third (and seventy-fourth) episode overall.

    motivated
  • Stimulate (someone's) interest in or enthusiasm for doing something

  • (motivate) give an incentive for action; "This moved me to sacrifice my career"

  • provided with a motive or given incentive for action; "a highly motivated child can learn almost anything"; "a group of politically motivated men"

  • (motivating) motivation: the act of motivating; providing incentive

  • Provide (someone) with a motive for doing something

    how to
  • Practical advice on a particular subject; that gives advice or instruction on a particular topic

  • A how-to or a how to is an informal, often short, description of how to accomplish some specific task. A how-to is usually meant to help non-experts, may leave out details that are only important to experts, and may also be greatly simplified from an overall discussion of the topic.

Knit Picks Notes
10/9/08: today I am starting my swatch. because there are so many different versions of this sweater I am going to knit up a few swatches to make sure I know my exact gauge so there isn’t a problem in the future.

10/9/09 PM: swatch is done and I think I am good to go. I used a US 5 for the stockinette sections and US 7 for the lace pattern. It seems to have worked out great, with perfect gauge after blocking. I am taking a chance and will knit the 36. I am more concerned that the 41 will be way to be then the 36 being too small. I am also knitting the ribbing on the sleeve with US 3, because from the looks of most of the sweaters posted the cuffs are very loose and I prefer them to be tight.

10/16/08: finished the second sleeve last night and cast-on for the body. I have decided to do the body all at once instead of in pieces, which has ment that I have had to figure out the adjusted stitch counts. I am currently working up the ribbing. So far I love the pattern and the lace detail. I thought it was going to be a problem changing needles every 12 rows, but so far that hasn’t been a problem. Knock on wood!

10/21/08: after a short break from this project to complete a pair of felted slippers I am back on this project. I just set up the first row of the patterns, and I am now concerned about my decision to knit the body all in one piece because the too cabled fronts will be lace all the way up, where as the back is alternating between lace sections and stockinette sections. I guess I will see how it goes. I might have to just wing it or switch out the needles more often than I had planned.

10/27/08: Slowly working up the body of this sweater. I worked out the kinks with the needle size and working the back in one piece. So far it is going as planned.

11/16/08: This project has been on hold for a few weeks because I was getting ready to go on vacation and it was too bulky to take with me on vacation. It will probably stay on hold untill all the Christmas knitting is completed.

2/9/09: This project is in a temporary time-out. I finished the body, but after seaming up the shoulders I have found it might be a bit small. I want to soak it an block it before I decide if I am going to frog it to make a slightly bigger size. Or maybe I will be motivated to loss the extra weight that I have been wanting to loss for quite some time.

2/11/09: I have blocked the body of this sweater and it stretched quite a bit, glad I decided to go with the 36 instead of the 40. If I was really smart and thought ahead, I would have created a new size 38. The sweater still seems a little too small, but I am going to go ahead and finish it anyway. I know if I can take of just a few pounds it will fit me nicely. I still need to block the sleeves, but that can be done while I am working on the neck band.

3/1/09: this sweater is still in a holding pattern. I have been busy working on some baby gifts, but I hope to finish up this sweater soon.

3/16/09: Oh so close, I finished up the button band yesterday, and now I am just waiting for the sleeves to finish blocking and I will sew it together. I am still worried about the size, but I am cranking up my exercise program so hopefully that will help.

3/17/09: It is finally done. It is a bit tight. I want to block it one more time now that it is all together and hopefully it will stretch just a little bit more. Otherwise, I might have to just gift this sweater to someone. I love this sweater and the yarn and if I can’t get it to fit me I would definitely consider making another one.

3/21/09: as much as I love this sweater, I just don’t think I will be able to wear it because it is still too small. So I gifted it to my friend Valerie, who I know will get some use out if this lovely sweater. I will just have to make myself another larger sweater. I would definitely use the same modifications, other than then sizing. Maybe I will make a tween size.
