Hard Water Filter For Shower

    water filter
  • a filter to remove impurities from the water supply

  • A water filter removes impurities from water by means of a fine physical barrier, a chemical process or a biological process. Filters cleanse water to various extents for irrigation, drinking water, aquariums, and swimming pools.

  • (Water Filters) A water filter is required to remove parasite contamination in big city municipal water supplies, and growing concerns about well water contamination in rural areas. It does away with the inconvenience and expense of purchasing bottled water.

    shower
  • a plumbing fixture that sprays water over you; "they installed a shower in the bathroom"

  • spray or sprinkle with; "The guests showered rice on the couple"

  • A mass of small things falling or moving at the same time

  • A large number of things happening or given to someone at the same time

  • lavish: expend profusely; also used with abstract nouns; "He was showered with praise"

  • A brief and usually light fall of rain, hail, sleet, or snow

    hard
  • Solid, firm, and resistant to pressure; not easily broken, bent, or pierced

  • (of information) Reliable, esp. because based on something true or substantiated

  • dispassionate; "took a hard look"; "a hard bargainer";

  • with effort or force or vigor; "the team played hard"; "worked hard all day"; "pressed hard on the lever"; "hit the ball hard"; "slammed the door hard"

  • (of a person) Not showing any signs of weakness; tough

  • difficult: not easy; requiring great physical or mental effort to accomplish or comprehend or endure; "a difficult task"; "nesting places on the cliffs are difficult of access"; "difficult times"; "why is it so hard for you to keep a secret?"

Tent and snow drift B&W

Tent and snow drift B&W

This shot was taken on day 5 of the hike, near Powell River BC.

On day 5 and 6 of the hike here's what the journal had to say as written by my brother and I.
Day 5: Thursday June 12th 2008
Antsy to get back on trail. Broke camp early. Pushed hard. For the first time, walking with packs on our back felt natural. Made awesome time. Made it to Inland lake (about 10km) before noon. Had lunch enroute to confederation lake on logging road, and continued to push hard. Made it up to Confederation Lake by 3:30ish. Followed elk tracks on the trail along the lake towards the far end with the campsite. 16km or so in 6hrs. Both tired but not nearly as sore as previous days. Awesome lake, scattered showers passed us all evening. Made small cook fire. Hummingbirds kept buzzing us all evening. Goldeneye and two babies on lake. Rained during the night, woke up a couple times to see Confederation lake covered in fog, very pretty.

Day 6: Friday June 13th 2008
Slept in and lazily. Plan for the day was to make it down from confederation lake to fiddlehead farm, only 7km away. Took time making it down from conferedation lake. Trail was rough, lots of fallen trees and steep. Trying hard to take our time, made it to fiddlehead farm at noon, had lunch in the orchard (apple trees) and decided too early to set up camp. Weather looked good. Decided to push up tin hat, and camp up high near the treeline. Made awesome time up the switchbacks. Amazing climb! Lots of downed trees low down on the mountain, less as we got higher up and onto steeper slopes. Camped up around 3000ft (leaving about 1000ft to the top) Snow! Set up tent beside a nice snow drift. Awesome campsite. No flowing water, filtered fresh snow melt from beside snow drift. Talked about summiting mountain to watch sunrise. Decided against as we didn’t know how steep/rough the trail would be up to the top.

Too Many Buses

Too Many Buses

I arrived at this spot after a days walk with a friend of ours and all the kids in toe. It was very strange weather, as one minute it was very sunny and the next heavy snow would fall. I’ve never seen this before, kind of like April showers but with snow. I was looking for the snow rainbow but didn’t manage to see one….(does that even exist?)

Anyway I arrived at the edge of Coniston lake 20min before sundown and was presented with this unusual scene. I think the log was placed there by another snapper in order to use as a prop. So I quickly exploited the leading lines (shush! don’t tell anybody I moved it a tad).

The shot was actually quite challenging. The sun was moving down rather quickly and I wanted to try and get it cresting the old man (mountain). So I very quickly set up, (as I always seem to do these days) and waited for the ripples of my wet feet to die down (yep the water went over my walking boots! The sacrifices I make eh). I then bracketed the exposure (instead of using the filters in the bag) and worried about correcting the exposure in post. Now let me tell you it wasn’t easy to make this look ok. When shooting into the sun you tend to silhouette everything else and to make some detail in the dark areas can look a bit too HDR. So I’ve tried very hard to balance the light and dark here and I hope you guys find it working…..

Oh yes there was a great sunset here just 20 min later but unfortunately the clouds you see here had almost gone and the resulting composition didn’t work as well as this. Shame really because the colours were great…bloody clouds are like busses….never around when you need them and too many when you don’t!

Oh by the way….I became an uncle yesterday (o: congratulations to Dominic and Mandy, the fun starts now!
