now i got a rocksolic piece of gear.. for AU$60
advantages
small compact & very quick to assemble
fits on 'standard' piping that we see everywhere in the concrete jungle
discreet
able to shoot from angles other tripods would be unable.
i think it would be great for cars/motorbikes etc..
disadvantages.
needs to clamp onto something.
i'm very happy with this creation. does anybody else use similar?

This is how I got the camera. You don't see in the picture that there was a ring flash around the lens deep inside the framing shroud. It has an odd looking power plug and I'm not really sure of what the power source needs to be so it will be removed.
