Ceramic Tile Floor Design Ideas
- A tile is a manufactured piece of hard-wearing material such as ceramic, stone, metal, or even glass. Tiles are generally used for covering roofs, floors, walls, showers, or other objects such as tabletops.
- A man-made or machine-made clay tile used to finish a floor or wall. Generally used in bathtub and shower enclosures and on counter tops.

Gróf Palace
Gróf Palace, Szeged, Hungary - August 2009
"A wealthy lawyer, Árpád Márton Gróf had the palace built in 1912-1913 for highest quality demand tenants, and he also arranged his private suite and office in the building. Overlooking three streets, the 4-floor palace was designed by Ferenc Raichl J., who arrived from Subotica to Szeged to build the Church of Rókus. The architect tried to combine modern ideas and achievements with a traditional Hungarian and Eastern style ornamentation. The main façade is framed by two slim towers standing on stocky columns, crowned by smoothly shaped steeples. The interplay of surfaces placed on various levels is very attractive. The dynamism of surfaces is further reinforced by the variety found in the balustrade of the balconies: statuesque, compact, and pierced stone grates are alternated by smoothly shaped wrought iron parapets. Ornaments of the main façade are ruled by the rich, picturesque, Eastern style golden mosaic of the gable area, the morsels of which you can find also in other areas of the façade. Hungarian motifs appear on embossed glazed ceramic tiles; they play only a slightly subordinate role on the building. The wrought iron balcony parapets, banisters, pillars, and flower holders were designed by Ferenc Fejős. The unique value of the palace is further enriched by the details of the interior that are preserved to this day: smoothly arched openings, colored windows of the stairwell and the attic, artificial stone covering of the stairway and tiles of the lateral walls."

"Gróf Árpád Márton, a vagyonos ügyvéd 1912-1913-ban építtette a palotát a legmagasabb igényekkel rendelkező bérlők számára, itt rendezte be saját lakását és irodáját is. A rókusi templom kivitelezésére Szabadkáról Szegedre érkezett Raichl J. Ferenc tervei alapján épült a három utcára néző, háromemeletes palota, melyen a tervező sajátosan egyesítette a modern gondolatokat és vívmányokat a hagyományokban gyökerező, magyaros és keleti ornamentikával. A főhomlokzatot két, zömök oszlopra állított, finoman formált sisakkal koronázott, karcsú torony keretezi. Rendkívül attraktív hatású a különböző síkban lévő felületek játéka. A síkokból eredő mozgalmasságot tovább fokozza az erkélyek mellvédjeinek változatossága: a plasztikus, tömör és áttört kőrácsok váltakoznak a leheletfinom, kovácsoltvas korlátokkal. A homlokzati ornamentika meghatározó eleme a főhomlokzat orommezőjének gazdag, festői, keleties aranymozaikja, melynek morzsái fölcsillannak a homlokzat egyéb helyein is. A magyaros motívumok domború, mázas kerámiaként jelennek meg, mennyiségileg alárendeltebb formában. Fejős Ferenc rendkívül finom munkáját dicsérhetjük a kovácsoltvas erkély- és lépcsőkorlátokban, a korlátindító oszlopokban, valamint a virágtartókban. A palota további értékét képviselik a szinte teljes egészében megmaradt épületbelső további részletei, a visszafogottan ívelt vonalú nyílászárók, a színes lépcsőházi és padlásablakok, a lépcsőház műkő-, az oldalfalak csempeburkolata."

Vacation Home Sample Board

This sample board is for a proposed vacation home in a beach resort area. finishes have a "country cottage" feel to them in an attempt to convey the idea of a cozy, welcoming retreat.
The design company's name is included on a "title" strip on the board as well as the project title.
Interior finishes on this board include vinyl flooring, hardwood, carpet, fabrics, and ceramic tile samples.
Warning: the vinyl flooring sample was hard to work with, it just wouldn't stay glued down to the foam core!
It wasn't easy to get the knob on this sample board!
