Square Braided Rugs
(Braided Rug) continuous rope braid sewn in circle, oval, square, or rectangle, forming a reversible rug.
(Braided rug) The braided rug was a staple in early, Colonial American culture. Settlers used scraps of clothing and other excess materials to make a floor covering that would provide warmth and protection for a particular home's inhabitants and guests.
This refers to rugs made from braided yarn, or sometimes from strips of used cloth, which is why some braided rugs are also known as ‘rag rugs’. The braids are usually sewn into concentric circles or ovals, although they can be made into a square or rectangular shape.

Vintage Star Medallion Wall Quilt (Around Town)
I designed this vintage-style medallion quilt to hang on a wall in my living room. The colors were pulled from the chair upholstery and a braided rug in the room. Approx. 52" square. Quilted with a traditional clamshell design. Finished on Feb. 14th 2009.
NOTE: This quilt was published in the March/April 2012 issue of Quiltmaker magazine, renamed as "Around Town". I sent the pattern in on a whim and was very excited to have it chosen for publication!
Red/Black/Gold Squared Braided Rug
I wanted to try something totally different from the norm, so I created this design. It is done in knits and measures 4 x 4. I love the beautiful accent it will leave any room.
