the microwave now matches!
So, when we first moved into this house, the kitchen had a combination of white and black appliances. By that I mean that the dishwasher and range were 'tuxedo' and the microwave was white. I thought black looked better against the oak cabinets, so we bought a black fridge. (2006)
Then, when I couldn't even get the stove to boil water, we replaced that with a black stove. (Also 2006)
And, while we tried painting the panels on the dishwasher black, it didn't altogether make up for the fact that it didn't clean dishes very well, so we replaced that with a black dishwasher. (I think in 2007)
I loved the microwave, however, and didn't want to replace it with a new flimsy-doored model even though it looked patently hideous w/ all the other appliances being black. When my ILs remodeled their kitchen they got a new microwave and gave us their old, black one, which sat on the kitchen floor for longer than I care to admit, waiting to be installed.
Finally a couple of weeks ago my mom and step-father visited and my husband and step-father got to setting it up. I didn't even realize how bad it looked before until the new one was up, but now the appliance color transformation is complete.
Now all the kitchen needs is new lighting, a new floor (the old vinyl is stained and gouged), new counter tops, and a new back splash (the current back splash is part of the counter top), but as of now I have no idea what I want.

"We just did a thing! If we didn't do the thing we just said we did, don't worry! There's no need to call this number and complain!"
The guy from Sears called and said he had our new dishwasher. When he arrived, it turned out he was just the delivery man, so he could not unhook the old dishwasher, install the new dishwasher, or haul the old one away. Then he handed me this piece of paper. Ah, sweet confusening.
I would love to know how they came up with this little notice; I am particularly interested in their rules governing the use of punctuation. (I assume that more exclamation points means that the statement is less true.)
