Nickel Story
The last time I ran my ashing machine, somewhere in the spin/rinse cycle it began making a horrific clattering metal sound-- not good. I did finish the load, but called in a repair man today.
Rick came in and listened to my explanation. Then he said, "I cannot do anything if we cannot reproduce the sound."
That always worries me, as I fear it wont happen, and then I am just another Paranoid Customer. We ran it through a few different short cycles. No clattering. Then Rick pressed soemthing, and there it was!
Ahhh, he said.
"So what is it?" I asked.
He said it was some object that had worked its way into the pump that drains the washer, and it was clattered around the motor impellers. "What might it be?" I asked.
"Oh ,probably just a nickel"
About 3o minutes later, the washing machine was running smoothly. I thanked Rick, and being curious, I asked him what thre object was.
He handed me thos nickel.
Let's hear it for clairvoyant repairmen.
