Airsoft is primarily a recreational activity with replica firearms that shoot plastic BBs that are often used for personal collection, gaming (similar to paintball), or professional training purposes (military simulations, a.k.a. MilSim, and police training exercises).
Airsoft refers to a class of replica air powered guns that originated from Japan (although the origins go back to the US in the 70s). The power levels are way below those of traditional airguns, but the guns are 1:1 scale copies of original pistols, rather than original designs.

Side button lever release stamped Pat 25783/10. Rearsight stamped RD460143. Retaining plate stamped PATENT 8246-06 and PATD 3/4/06 under the cocking lever. Under the barrel is stamped RD479972 and closer to the breech end the number 795 which corresponds with the number on the end of the loading tap.

Spencer Sporting Rifle
Spencer .44 caliber lever action sporting rifle chambered for the .56-46 bottleneck rim fire cartridge. The rifle belonged to Pierre Bottineau, a mixed race surveyor, diplomat and translator in the Minnesota Territory. Bottineau's rifle has a walnut stock, round barrel and iron mountings including an elevating rear sight and dovetailed blade front sight; the tang-mounted sight missing. Made by the Spencer Repeating Rifle Company in Boston, Massachusetts.
