Airsoft is primarily a recreational activity with replica firearms that shoot plastic BBs that are often used for personal collection, gaming (similar to paintball), or professional training purposes (military simulations, a.k.a. MilSim, and police training exercises).
Airsoft refers to a class of replica air powered guns that originated from Japan (although the origins go back to the US in the 70s). The power levels are way below those of traditional airguns, but the guns are 1:1 scale copies of original pistols, rather than original designs.
A modern combat sport in which participants eliminate their opponents by hitting them with spherical non-metallic pellets launched from a compressed-air gun
G36 may refer to: * Heckler & Koch G36, a German 5.56mm assault rifle designed in the early 1990s * Grumman G-36, a F4F Wildcat aircraft variant * a 2009 model of the Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft
My Classic Army G36KV
This is my heavily converted and upgraded Classic Army G36K.
I've replaced the standard skeleton stock with a G&P 4-position folding stock and re-wired the battery connector to the rear. The battery now goes in the stock. This was done because of the SRC RIS that was added to the front, replacing the stock plastic hand guard, and there was no room for a battery in the RIS. The carry handle is custom modified to fit a custom 20mm rail on top for my Eotech 552 clone. The RIS features Classic Army Knight's Armament style rail covers. The charging handle has been replaced with a Classic Army metal charging handle after the plastic one broke. The magazine is a Tokyo Marui standard G36 magazine. Internally it is running a M120 spring in a stock gearbox. The Classic Army motor was replaced with a Tokyo Marui motor (don't recall the model). The stock Classic Army inner barrel has been replaced by a DB Custom 384mm length, 6.01mm diameter inner barrel.
Right now this AEG chronos at about 385 FPS with .20g BBs. I run a 9.6v 1500mah battery.
I have plans to swap out the gearbox with a KWA G36C gearbox as their internals are much better, drop in an M110 spring and possibly upgrade the motor too. This should push the AEG into the 410 FPS range with .20g BBs and be easier on the internals. I also plan to upgrade my battery to a 10.8v 1500mah battery after upgrading the gearbox.
