I present another generic scrap-built post-apocalyptic gun. This one's a grenade launcher. It was originally a normal assault rifle, but through constant modding the owner eventually gave it a 30mm barrel and ditched the magazine, replacing it with a feed slot above the barrel. He also took out the fully automatic fire function, not for reasons of common sense but because it was unnecessarily complicated to build a fully automatic grenade launcher.
It fires custom-made 30mm (roughly) shells loaded with nitroglycerine. They explode on impact. Because the shells contain their own propellant, rather than relying on compressed air, the gun itself is slightly more compact than a normal grenade launcher. However, as a result the shells are a very dangerous thing to keep in your pocket.
