GEC - the English GEC that is (not American GE) were one of the UK's major companies for many years - they've amazingly vanished now. They made 'everything electrical' - literally from a power station to the domestic plug you'd use. For many years their domestic appliances were branded as "Magnet" - and her is the "Magnet Girl" with her Magnet apron selling you the advantages of electrical service.
