Cutting a rebate - plough plane
The cabinet will have a plywood back seated in a rebate cut into the rear of the main sections. This rebate will be deep enough to hold the back and allow scribing and shaping to fit the wall where the cabinet will sit. Here I'm cutting the rebate with a Record 044 plough plane. All rebates are cut 'through'; they will be plugged where they should be stopped.
