To the butthead who stole my bike:
In a pathetic effort to save money to pay my mortgage (since my lovely tenants have refused to pay their rent for the last month and a half), I've been riding a bike to/from work for the last three weeks. (Not even my bike--my brother-in-law loaned me his bike) I'll admit that, at first, my very sore tush hated the bike seat and yearned for comfort of a dirty but comfy CTA train seat. However, in the past week, my tush has gotten adjusted to the pain of the seat and I've actually managed to really enjoy the 14 mile roundtrip to/from work.
Due to the fact that the bike was borrowed, I made every effort to ensure that it wouldn't be stolen as it sat outside my office. I locked the bike to a rack with nearly 40 other bikes in an area with a lot of pedestrian traffic and also removed the seat. Imagine my shock when I walked out of my office yesterday to find the bike missing. Imagine my embarrassment when I had to call my brother-in-law to tell him that his bike was stolen. Imagine my rage when I found my bike lock (cut) sitting on the sidewalk where my bike was once locked up. Mr Thief - next time, please just take the lock with you or throw it out.
I truly hope you enjoyed the seatless ride back to your apt on my bike - where you'll likely post my bike on Craigslist for a stellar profit. I hope you realize that you've pushed me further into financial hell due to the fact that I now I owe my brother-in-law $300 to buy a new bike.

i finally got rid of the bike seat from hell that was so uncomfortable to ride and replaced it with a "women's comfort saddle" from bayou bicycles. they were very nice and installed it for me for free.
