Cross Hydraulic Valve
- Any valve controlling the flow of water.
- Irrigation zone valve which uses small flexible tubes and water under pressure to provide the actuation signal from the controller to the valve.

Watts governer
This clever device seen on nearly all stationary steam engines regulates their speed. The whole assembly is rotated by the engine and as the small balls fly outward a rod is lifted closing the main steam valve , throttling the engine.
