High Pressure Butterfly Valves
- A valve consisting of a pair of semicircular plates that are attached to a spindle across a pipe and hinged to allow flow only one way
- (butterfly valve) a valve in a carburetor that consists of a disc that turns and acts as a throttle
- (Butterfly Valve) A water control device with a narrow disc mounted in the water flow path that can be turned so the disc is aligned with the path allowing water to pass by it, or perpendicular to the path to stop the flow.

Here's a pretty cool 935 engine. Take your foot off the throttle, these little butterflies open, turbines keep rolling high speed, low pressure air whooshes though... until you need the power, and schlink! the valves close and all that boost goes into the intakes...
I believe this is a Porsche Kremer 935K-3, wearing #79, driven now by Woody Perkins.

Cosseys Dam Auckland water pipeline
Main water pipeline from Cosseys Dam in the Hunua Ranges crosses the Wairoa River.
