Track Bike Wheelset
A very simple bike used for track racing. It has a single-speed gear without freewheeling and there are no brakes.
A bicycle made for track (also called "velodrome") racing. These bikes resemble road-racing models but have only one gear and no brakes. The gear is "fixed," which means you can't coast. You control speed by holding back on the pedals.
A track bicycle or track bike is a bicycle optimized for racing at a velodrome or outdoor track. Unlike road bicycles, the track bike is a fixed-gear bicycle and so has a single gear and neither freewheel nor brakes. Tires are narrow and inflated to high pressure to reduce rolling resistance.
A wheelset is the wheel-axle assembly of a railroad car. The frame assembly beneath each end of a car, railcar or locomotive that holds the wheelsets is called the bogie (or truck in North America).
Refers to a pair of wheels, front and rear.
The combination of two wheels and the axle to which the wheels are attached.
My track bike.
I stopped to get a shot of my bike tonight, I bought it last year when I upgraded from the Fuji Track Pro in October (The old alloy '07 one). It's an Azzurri. I stripped it down, rubbed it back and painted it flat black enamel when I got it though and the finish is superb. 57cm frame. SOOOO stiff! I have one from each wheelset in tonight.
It's been built up with the following:
3TTT Ergonova Pro bars 42cm
3TTT Team 120mm stem (I pinstriped over the red with black)
Shimano UN25 BB (Really gotta change this out!!)
Miche Advanced 172.5 crankset
Keo Carbon pedals
Miche Advanced chain rings and cogs
Izumi Super Toughness chain
Handbuilt wheels with D-A high flange hubs to Open Pro CD's, 32h, Ultremos <- Training
De-stickered Campagnolo Pistas, Vittoria Evo Pista CS <- Racing
Fizik Arione CX Carbon seat

Now with the Record wheelset. The cranks have been changed too. The old was a Dura Ace 7400, and now this is an Dura Ace Ax. It has a pretty pedals, and gives more stiffness. I think it looks better than the 7400...
