Bicycle Suspension Seat Post
- A bicycle suspension is the system or systems used to suspend the rider and all or part of the bicycle in order to protect them from the roughness of the terrain over which they travel.
- A bicycle seatpost, seatpin, or saddlepole is a tube that extends upwards from the bicycle frame to the saddle. The amount that it extends out of the frame can usually be adjusted, and there is usually a mark that indicates the minimum insertion (or maximum extension).
- The removable and adjustable (sometimes chrome) tube that the saddle mounts onto. See photo below.
- Frame component onto which the saddle is attached. The seatpost is inserted into the seat tube.
Big Dummy part 7
I tried out the Big Dummy seat post on my Pug for a couple of hours today. Even with the big squashy tyres it was nowhere near as comfortable as my Thudbuster suspension post. I haven't worn padded shorts since I got the Thudbuster. I'll keep this Salsa one for the road and the occasional off-road jaunt.
