Crittall Windows - catalogue with cover designed by W F Crittall, 1932
The title page to the 1932 Crittall metal windows catalogue. Crittall's are famous manufacturers of such windows that appeared in so many 1930s buildings. They were based in Braintree, Essex, and had a 'company' village at Silver End. This edition has very striking art-deco style, if not 'jazz age', graphics and the cover was designed by W F Crittall, the man who played the major role in elevating the company from a hardware and metal manufacturing company into a specialist window producer that was closely allied to the new architectures of the twentieth century.
