“Riad Dar Najat = Heaven On Earth,with a cherry on top!”
We cannot praise this magnificent Riad,the owner and his amazing staff staff enough for making our first holiday to Morocco spectacular. The attention and care lavished on us made us feel so at home and welcome,my 13 year old daughter did not want to leave!
The Riad itself is beautiful,the attention to detail and all the wonderful art is a feast to your eyes. Oliver the owner showed us around and we were both overcome with awe at the beautifully designed rooms.Our room(leila) was amazing,the most comfortable beds you could imagine with sumptuous soft furnishing and luxurious furniture it had the most beautifully wooden carved wardrobe,wonderful sofa and table and of course amazing artwork on the walls.The bathroom was beautiful,again no detail spared,we especially loved the sink with all it's handmade carved detail,the whole room felt very palatial.
The staff are the most helpful and friendly people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.They all go the extra mile to ensure you have a great stay,nothing seems too much trouble for them I wanted to buy a tagine to take home,one I could cook with,not just for decoration and two of the guys happily took me shopping to get one,even though it was quite late,and they had been working all day,thank you both so much( I have used it and it works a treat,I took the advice of soaking it first)
Now to the food....Out of this world,not only did I have the gastronomic pleasure of eating it,I was also given a lesson on how to make it! The traditional chicken tagine melted in your mouth and the delicate herbs and spices tickled the senses.The salads and vegetables were a treat,all organic and bursting with fresh flavours and all beautifully presented. I also tried the traditional dish 'trid' a pastry and chicken dish it was delicious. Breakfast in the Riad is also a very grand affair, we sat on the peaceful terrace and were served pots of coffee,freshly squeezed orange juice,fresh pancakes,eggs,fruit,croissants,pain au chocolate it was so fresh and filling and a great start to the day.The food in the riad was the best we tasted in Marrakech,I cant wait to go back for more!
My daughters favourite spot in the Riad was the top roof terrace,she loved sitting up there with the sky above her in the opulent surroundings and also taking advantage of the riads laptop! At night you get an amazing view of the mosque,Koutoubia. In the day the riad is a peaceful oasis of calm and tranquility and as the sun goes down all the lanterns and candles are put on giving it a romantic feeling, it really is stunning to see.The jacuzzi also looks stunning when it is lit up in the evening,literally screaming at you to jump in!
You are only about 5 mins,if that from the main square and you don't need to be concerned about getting lost as there is always someone from the riad happy to take you to where you want to go! Oliver even lent us a mobile phone to use in case we got lost or needed any help with anything,now that is service,second to none! :-) If you are looking to be spoiled in luxurious surrounding,enjoy great food,like to be in the heart of things yet tranquil look no further than this riad,you will not be disappointed.
Take time to have a look at all the fabulous paintings and artwork and the artist,who is a member of staff is happy to explain to you what his pictures represent. All in all a magical experience by us both,and I would like to say a huge thank you to Oliver,his beautiful wife,TrueB and all the hardworking staff,it was a pleasure to meet you all and enjoy your splendid hospitality. It's taken a long time for me to put together everything seen here. Just a little over 4 months. Travels to Ikea out of state... assembly, delivery and all that goodness. Not to mention endless research on the items purchased for what I want but also the money to get it all. It's still a little messy and far from complete but I'm happy with my progress so far.

Next big upgrade(s) are for new speakers to arrive from Amazon (I decided to go with Cerwin Vega and stick with Stereo instead of the madness of 7.1 channel audio) so the Marantz has something more powerful to drive. The Oppo BDP-80 will do the task of down mixing the surround sound audio so it will all work out well in the end. Plus, I listen to far more music than I watch TV.... so it'll be nice to shake the ground a little. Debating if I should even really bother with a vinyl ripper at this point... as I'm sure I'll prefer the SACDs instead.

Aside from a few canvas pictures I want to get (some are already above but not in the picture), some organizing on the bookshelf and the addition of a few more components, this section will be done soon.
