Families on board Ventura

Ventura will be the perfect choice for families with activities and entertainment provided on board for children of all ages. The qualified and experienced youth crew will be on hand to ensure the younger members of the family have the holiday of a lifetime, enabling parents to take some time out for themselves.

Children’s clubs
Ventura will feature five different areas, catering for five key age groups – under two, two - four, five to eight, nine to 12 and 13 to 17 year olds. For the first time, P&O Cruises has designed an area specifically for parents to supervise their children aged less than two years. Outdoor deck spaces will be themed and architecturally designed with children’s needs in mind, and the children’s areas will feature the latest gaming consoles and interactive technology.

There will be a comprehensive programme of age-appropriate ‘edutainment’, designed to keep children’s minds and bodies active throughout their holiday. These include film shows, quizzes, board games, scavenger hunts around the ship, drama workshops, pool games, sports sessions, singing, dancing, arts and crafts, videos and more.

Noddy on board
For the first time, perennial children’s favourite Noddy will take to the high seas, combining play and learning with a number of fun activities and entertainment tailored for two to four year olds. Noddy will join children for character breakfasts and playtime and complimentary Noddy welcome packs will be provided to all children aged two to four, in their cabin on arrival.

Rock School
Created with teen passengers in mind, Rock School will give 13 to 17 year olds the opportunity to play musical instruments, create their own music and be a rock star for a day.

Cirque Ventura
The whole family can enjoy the fun of the circus on board Ventura. Passengers aged six to 60 will be able to participate in circus activities including juggling, acro-balance, stilt walking, flying trapeze and bungee trampoline.

Children’s fitness
There will be plenty of opportunity for children to burn off excess energy with a programme of sporting activities that make exercising fun. These include swimming, football, cricket, table tennis and basketball.

Scalextric at sea
Children and their parents will get equal enjoyment from Ventura’s huge Grand Prix-style Scalextric track, which provides action-packed, fast-paced, digital technology racing for the whole family.

Family shore excursions
Ventura’s shore excursion programme will be tailored to suit families looking to make the most of the destinations they visit. Aqua parks, camel rides, nature trails and theme parks all feature, ensuring everyone the family is entertained and educated about the ship’s ports of call.

Family cabins
Ventura is designed with families in mind and her fun and functional three- and four-berth family cabins are no exception, with in-cabin Noddy welcome packs for two to four year olds, a flat screen television and DVD player.

Night nursery and baby listening service
Parents will be able to relax and enjoy their evenings with Ventura’s Night Nursery for children aged six months to five years, which will be open every night from 6pm - 2am. Ventura will also provide an in-cabin baby listening service and pagers will be available to parents to keep in touch with the children while they are in the care of the youth crew.

Youth crew
All P&O Cruises youth crew have extensive experience. They are practised in the planning and facilitating of a wide range of play and leisure activities for children aged 2 to seventeen years. Relevant qualifications for youth staff working with the under eights are NNEB/CACHE Diploma in Nursery Nursing, BTEC National Diploma in Early Childhood Studies, CACHE/OCR/EDEXCEL City & Guilds Certificate in Childcare & Education and/ or a Teaching Certificate.

Sabor Latino helps children learn how to play the guiro and other Latin and Hispanic musical instruments.
