Mom practicing on her Mandolin - Lookout Entertainment!

Mom practicing on her Mandolin - Lookout Entertainment!

Mom was self teaching herself on the Mandolin. We have had this mandolin as a fixture in our house for decorating for years and years. I finally made the connection! There is a picture of Mom with the Mandolin elsewhere in my pictures on Flickr.

Mom worked one summer on Saddle Mountain in Oregon in Summer of 1955 before getting married and having a family.

She says it was not nearly as much fun as the Snow Peak Lookout - especially as the weather was always wet (and not fires) and was too close to the road and she had over 1000 visitors.
