The trumpet is upside down for this shot - the 3rd valve tuning slide is actually towards the bottom of the instrument. This is how I was holding the trumpet and the camera to get a shot of the valve casings, and I decided not to rotate it back for the final image.

A close up of the Tuning slide on my sons Trumpet, this is a 5 shot HDR, I really liked this in color except for the Chromatic fringing I was getting (I've got a cheap camera) that all goes away in BW, and Chrome always looks cool...
