E46 Fuel Pump
A high volume and pressure of fuel is required to run an EFI system. EFI fuel pumps are sized in liters (LPH) or gallons (GPH) and are capable of producing 60-90 pounds of pressure in the fuel line. A typical automotive fuel pump for a carburetor produces 5-7 pounds of pressure.
The fuel pump moves gas from the gas tank and delivers it to the fuel injection system or carburetor.
A fuel pump is a frequently (but not always) essential component on a car or other internal combustion engined device.
The BMW E46 is the fourth generation of the 3 Series compact executive cars produced by BMW, produced from 1998 when it succeeded the BMW E36 until it was replaced by the BMW E90 in 2005.
Fuel Stop and Go
Somewhere in cold South Carolina i stopped for some fuel. I hadn't done an extended exposure in a while so why not? I wish there were more traffic going by in the distance but it's all good.
If you're curious about the blue at the bottom of the bumper, it's just to protect from rocks and debris on long highway hauls.
I rushed these shots a bit, as it was very cold and i was on a tight travel schedule to get back home. So they're not quite as sharp as i'd like.
