Pulpmill Pumphouse- Val Jalbert
To increase its production capacity, the Chicoutimi Pulp Company (CPC) undertook lots of work, from 1910 including the construction of a pumphouse to accommodate 3 large turbines. A stone and cement floor with reinforced concrete was added in order to receive trades, hydraulic press, pumps and strainers. Four years later, on the west side of the plant, a room for Barking manuals and the kettle was constructed, then, in 1916 and 1917, the original part of the plant that was wood is covered in stone. My pictures show the remnants of pieces of equipment and machinery that still exist in the factory.
