Forgotten Advertisements
Well, if anyone is curious as to what I have been up to for school here you go:
Product Photography
Take what you want from this. Call this photo the glorification of something evil. Or call it whatever the hell you want, but the fact of the matter is - we do not see ads like this anymore. I remember growing up as a kid and seeing the pages of magazines littered with photos just like this one.
Whereas most people see this photo and think evil, I made this photo believing in the beautiful representation of a time long forgotten.

Art
After a brief stop at the post office, I made my way down 18th Street towards Castro Street. At the corner of 18th and Collingwood is a supermarket recently closed and re-opened as a Mollie Stone's. I had planned to walk quite a ways that day—from home to the post office to Photographers Supply downtown to Calumet Photo—so I decided to stop at Mollie Stone's for a banana or two to power the walk. Most of the bananas were too green so I headed back out. Just as I left the store, Art asked about the camera. After I told him about my rule, he asked if I wanted him in front of the van he drives for Mollie Stone's (he shuttles customers from the store to their homes). I told him, no... that I wanted to shoot with the sidewalk view behind him.
Art told me that he's also a photographer, that he likes photographing nature, often making trips to Yosemite and other nearby parks.
